In order to start pouring the resin, I needed the mold to pour into. And so the long journey of pouring begins… The first time, I put much less pigment, and wasn’t getting the glowing effect I desired. After each pour, I had to wait at LEAST 4 hours (it was really more like 6). A liberal amount of mold release was sprayed onto the acrylic pieces pre-placing. The strings were to help me lower them in without getting my hand all goopy. With my final pour, I used a different brand of resin(because my initial bottles ran out). With this one, I could pour more at a time (up to 3/8” thickness compared to 1/8”). The inserts got stuck… So I cut them out by milling them away and then pulling out any straggling remains.
